Tangy Green Smoothie {low sugar + alkalizing}

Tangy Green Smoothie {low sugar + alkalizing}

Green smoothies and I have been in a love affair for several years now and it is hard to imagine my daily life without them. They truly are a staple in my diet and for good reason! Green smoothies are packed with fiber, antioxidants, essential minerals, and a plethora of vitamins. They are a fabulous way to get in a great amount of nutrients into your beautiful body!

This tangy smoothie is one that always makes me feel energized and refreshed! It is alkalizing and anti-inflammatory which is probably why I crave it after a night of indulgence (ahem champagne with friends on my birthday night). This one is a bit “hardcore” but can easily be made sweeter with more banana or the addition of pitted dates. Cheers!

Tangy Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Filtered water
  • 1 Medium Green apple Cored and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 Frozen banana
  • 2 cups (or 2 big handfuls) Baby spinach
  • 1/4 Avocado
  • 2 Tbs Hemp hearts
  • 1 tsp Chlorella powder optional
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ground ginger optional
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Recipe Notes:

  • To make lower sugar, simply omit the banana.
  • To make sweeter, add a full banana or add a pitted date to the smoothie.
  • Spirulina powder is a great alternative if you do not have chlorella powder.
